The Missionaries of Charity Contemplatives reside at 22 Khirki Lane, Chinsurah.
We were founded by St. Teresa of Calcutta with Sr. M. Nirmala, MC as the co – foundress on The Solemnity of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, 25th June 1976 in New York, USA.
Our house in Chinsurah was opened on the 19th of March 1987 with Sr. M. Ancy, MC as the first superior.
Our main apostolate is prayer. Daily, we have Eucharistic Adoration to quench the Thirst of Jesus for love and souls. All are invited. Many of our non – Christian brothers and sisters drop in for silent prayer and thus come to know Jesus. We also go out to the streets and visit families, seeking souls who are hungry for God and for whom God hungers so much. We pray with them and listen to their problems.
Our Regional House is at St. John’s, Sealdah, Kolkata.
